Sign Up Weekend for all parishioners who want to participate - Jan 23-24

St. George Parish is happy to offer Season 4 of ARISE Together in Christ, a wonderful program that will focus on healing and reconcilation and span the 6 weeks of Lent.  

What is ARISE?
You may have heard about ARISE when Season 3 was underway last fall. If not, here is the structure of the upcoming ARISE program:

• Run for 6 weeks beginning the week of Feb 15 
• Participants sign up to be part of a small group of 7-10 people who meet once a week for 90 minutes over the 6-week period
• Most meetings will be held in informal settings, most likely the home of a trained ARISE facilitator who will help guide the group's discussion (each meeting has an agenda  with structured materials)
• As a participant, your commitment is one 90-minute meeting per week for 6 weeks. Groups will be offered in the mornings, afternoons and evenings throughout the work week so you can find a group that fits your schedule

Why Participate in ARISE?

How To Participate
Simply sign up on Sign-Up Weekend, which is held after all masses the weekend of Jan 23-24! You will be able to pick the day/time that works for you.

Interested in Facilitating a Group?
Several parishioners have stepped forward to be facilitators and we are welcoming anyone else who may be interested. Fr. John invites anyone who feels called to lead an ARISE group to attend one of the Facilitator Trainings this week.

About ARISE
ARISE Together in Christ is a program designed by RENEW International.  It is a three-year renewal program that the Archdiocese of Boston hopes will revive the spiritual commitment of parishioners who've been shaken by the clergy sex-abuse scandal and parish closings.

Designed specifically for the Boston Archdiocese, the small-group study sessions will begin Oct. 5 and continue through November 2010. They're expected to involve tens of thousands of members in about half the parishes in eastern Massachusetts.

Launched as the Archdiocese celebrates its 200th anniversary, ARISE will be held through November 2010, in five "seasons'' of six weeks each. Groups of 10 to 12 parishioners will gather to study the Bible and discuss how to live out Christian teachings more deeply - from more activity in social missions to a readiness to share their faith.
